The District

Vista Oaks is a 316-acre community located along FM 1431 between the growing cities of Round Rock and Cedar Park, Texas. This established community consists of more than 900 homes located along Honey Bear Creek and boasts family-friendly facilities including an Amenity Center and junior Olympic swimming pool, fire-pit and pavilion, sand volleyball court, basketball court, multiple playscapes, and a tennis court. Residents of Vista oaks also enjoy a lighted, concrete trail system that runs along Honey Bear Creek.

Vista Oaks, known as Williamson County MUD #9 until 2011, was created in 1987 by the legislature of the state of Texas. Vista Oaks Municipal Utility District provides water, solid waste collection, and wastewater service to the community.

District Elections

The District is governed by a Board of five members that serve staggered four-year terms. In accordance with Texas Water Code § 49.103, director elections are held on the November uniform election date, or the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, in even-numbered years. The District's next director election will be held on November 3, 2020 at the polling places for each election precinct within the District established by Williamson County, Texas. A person that desires to be a candidate in the District's next director election must be qualified to serve as a director and must timely submit an application for a place on the ballot to the District. To be qualified to serve as a director, a person must be at least 18 years old, a resident citizen of the State of Texas, and either own land subject to taxation in the District or be a qualified voter within the District. The first day and time that a candidate may file an application for a place on the ballot is 8:00 a.m. on the day that is 108 days before the election and the last day that a candidate may file an application for a place on the ballot is 5:00 p.m. on the day that is 78 days before the date of the election. The deadline for a declared write-in candidate to file an application is 74 days before the date of the election. For the November 3, 2020 director election, the first day and time that a candidate may file an application will be 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020, the deadline for filing the application for a place on the ballot will be 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2020, and the deadline for a declared write-in candidate to file an application will be 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2020. El Distrito está gobernado por una Junta de cinco miembros quienes sirven mandatos escalonados de cuatro años. De conformidad a la Sección 49.103 del Código de Agua de Texas, las elecciones de directores se llevan a cabo en la fecha uniforme de la elección de noviembre, o el primer martes de noviembre después del primer lunes de noviembre, en los años de números pares. La próxima elección de directores del Distrito se llevará a cabo el 3 de noviembre de 2020 en los lugares de votación para cada precinto electoral dentro del Distrito establecido por el Condado de Williamson, Texas.
